Vladimir was born in Kutna Hora in the Central-Bohemian region in 1976 and grew up in the village Bernolákovo in Czechoslovakia/Slovak Republic. After finishing elementary school he trained in Ostrava as Řezník-uzenář – traditional butchery extending to charcuterie, curing and smoking, finishing in 1993. He worked in the butchering trade for over twenty years in the Czech Republic and several other European Union countries including Germany and Ireland.
Vladimir’s perception of the world has been influenced by the political system at the time of his youth – living in a ‘satellite state of the Soviet Union, and the historic ending of that era in 1989 with the “Velvet Revolution”. Moving from village to city as an adult sparked fascination with Architecture and Urban Planning and with art, especially Cubism and prompted the beginning of an eternal search for the differences and comparisons with the others and with oneself. He began his art education in 2012 with an Art Craft and Design Course at LCFE, ultimately leading to Limerick School of Art and Design where he studied Ceramic Design.
